Kit Hacks-Flash Bounce Kit.

Have you ever been in a situation where the ceiling was too high for your flash to bounce off?Or maybe it was in an open area? Well the solution to that is a bounce kit or a simple bounce card for a flash that's angled at 75°. But, bounce kits can cost around RM69-RM100 per set. The worst part is, most of it are either made out of hard card or plastic or white non-reflective plastic and a simple aluminum arm. The basic purpose of a bounce kit is to bounce off the flash so it gives more distributed lighting, instead of direct flash that at times overexposes a certain part of the frame.

So, to save a little cash, you can do this. You'll need some creativity, and the following items.

#1 Your flash.

#2 Wristbands or something slightly elastic but not too elastic that will fit around the top of the flash.

#3 A piece of hard card(non reflective) cut with a small piece sticking out to be inserted between the wristbands
Step #1, Take the wristbands and attach it to the flash.

Step#2, Cut out a piece of hard card with a small piece extra just enough to slip in between the wristbands and the flash.
Step#3 Position the card (to form the bounce kit) the way you prefer(this where the creativity comes in)

And there you have it, an improvised bounce kit that works almost as well as the professional one..

Beyond the Music

Pre-Performance

IPOH,Perak-Last night(23/04/2011) was the Michaelian Military Band's concert for 2011 that was held at DEWAN LEONG WAN CHIN, SMK PEREMPUAN PERAK.
The event began at approximately 7.45pm with the national anthem performed by the band members. The band serenaded the crowd to songs like, Jai Ho, The Star Wars Theme and a selection of songs. After the intermission their style changed to a more dynamic and a performance full of movement, those shots are available from Syaf Ahmad. The whole performance ended about 9.55PM with the crowd still not feeling satisfied and wanting more. All in all, it was an awesome performance and good job MMB! Keep up the good work!

WARNING:Reader discretion advised! Pictures of graves! Do not read if highly superstitious about these things..

Ok, so as the title says it, today since I had some free time, I went over to church, took a walk around, then thought of going for a stroll in the graveyard, and this is what I came across.=D

A grave that look quite out of place, with the design and wordings.

The furthest graves from the entrance that are sinking down into the old nightclub behind.Who says the dead don't party eh?

Another queer looking grave for a Catholic Cemetery

Some graves have been so long forgotten, the earth is starting to swallow them up.

This grave is in the Children's section. When I was a kid and used to walk by the graveyard after mass, I noticed that this angel figurine on the top had been vandalized and had lost an arm. When it lost it's head?I have no idea, but it's proof of vandalization around here.

This figurine's wings were smashed off by some hoodlums..The family just used (plaster of Paris)P.O.P and roughly reconstructed the wings.

Some graves have been almost completely swallowed up by the earth and surroundings.

Sunrise!

And oh yah, on my way back, I swung by that burnt house that everyone's been talking about. It's along Jalan Sungai off Jalan Pasir Pinji, opposite the Pasir Pinji Police Station.

Even the poor guy's bike wasn't spared
